Karanika Domaine - Brut Rose 750ml

This wine produced and bottled by the Dutch-with Greek roots-winemaker Laurens Hartman in Amyntaio of Florina in Western Macedonia. The grapes are a variety of Xionomavro which is the noblest red grape variety of northern Greece. A quite robust and productive variety forming average-sized bunches of conical, or even aliform, shape. The bunch is dense and the grapes are of average size, spherical, with a thick blue-black skin but colorless juice. In cooler (mountainous) areas like Amyndeon, where there is a small yield per vine, Xinomavro is capable of offering rich red wines, full, high in alcohol content, with good color, and enough tannins to assist in a lengthy aging.

Persistent, high quality foaming, achieved with a second fermentation in the bottle, with small-sized bubbles to travel and carry 'messages' freshness to the top of the flute glass, which will highlight all the aromatic character of wine . Stylish, elegant nose with bold fytikotitas and hints of toasted bread, pastries and nuts. Mouth completely dry, with acidity causes, enhancing the feeling of freshness that creates foaming. The perfect aperitif to open your appetite,but also great blend next fat foods first and the best smoked salmon and caviar or jamon iberico. An excellent alternative to much more expensive and not always top quality champagnes, for the days of Christmas and beyond. Amyndeo is located next to the lake Vegoritis, at an altitude of 650 metres (2100 feet). It is surrounded by 3 giant mountains. The climate exhibits cool nights and hot days during summer, with plenty of rainfalls and snow during the cold winter. Amyndeo has the coolest climate of all wine producing regions of Greece.
